I have been holding out for this device for months - I wanted an all-in-one phone, pda (with touch screen) and gps and this looked like it would be the best.

I would agree with the previous review and add the following:

1. Be careful configuring the fingerprint reader - I almost managed to lock my device - I have left it disabled since!
2. As far as I know there's no way to navigate around an automated telephone system without having the device open - slightly annoying.
3. Applications don't close when you click 'x', they just get pushed to the background and continue to use memory - I installed Magic Key to get around this.
4. The file browser isn't very good, I installed Total Commander.
5. Still no update on the Toshiba site about which GPS software is certified to run on the device - this is poor, though I will try out Memory Map this evening.
6. Stylus is a little flimsy, similar design to the old fashioned telescopic car ariels!

7. Unable to rotate the screen from landscape to portrait.
8. I am left-handed, and using the device can be awkward as the main scroll bar is on the right of the screen and I find that my hand sometimes activates other areas of the screen - you will need to perfect that skill you learned in school to stop you smudging your ink as you write - no blotting paper here! So, an OS change to allow you to move the scroll bar to another area would be REALLY useful.
9. Unable to find any Spectrum Emulator that will run on it!!!
10. Device needs to open when taking photos!

They are my niggles....apart from them I am completely satisfied with the device and I think with time and software updates things will get better - I just want them now!!

The keyboard feels good, the webcam is fun and good quality, the camera produces excellent quality images and the built is soo good it's blinding!

Oh..one other thing I can't find anywhere that is selling the accessories listed on the Toshiba site - come on Play.com!

Screen: excellent resolution. Due to a very high pixel density, in reality the screen itself is quite small (about 2in x 1.5in). Very crisp, but stare at it for too long and everything more distant gets blurred!
Keyboard: OK. Obviously you wouldn't want to do a great deal of typing on these devices, but keys are sufficiently large that even my fingers tend to find the right button most of the time. But to give this they sacrifice the actual number of keys; you'll find that typing many symbols entails having to push multiple buttons.
Memory: I bought the SanDisk 8GB micro SDHC card (also from Play) and this was recognized without problem.
Audio: I was disappointed to see that the "audio out" connection was proprietary, but I suppose they make up for it in that they do at least provide in the box the adapter to plug in a 2.5mm audio jack.
Software: Windows Mobile 6.0, not 6.1. To tell the truth I can't tell the difference between this and WM5, save for the pretty green desktop. One thing I did notice was a "Windows Mobile Update" icon, but it didn't offer to upgrade me to 6.1. Apart from this, as far as I can tell the applications are all the same right down to Solitaire and Bubble Breaker.
Reliability: I saw a review of the device where the reviewer simply said it crashed all the time. Put me off a bit, but to be honest I've had one crash since it arrived (all I was doing was navigating through the Settings menu and the device froze). So I don't perceive this as being any worse than WM5. There is a countersunk reset button on the keyboard, and rebooting fixed my particular problem.
Other Apps / GPS: The big disappointment - I couldn't install my copy of Tomtom Navigator 6 onto the device. It installs Ok, but the software does not display properly, and I haven't yet found any way around this. On the other hand, I run another piece of GPS-enabled software called Memory Map, and this *does* work, although it took a fair amount of faffing about to configure it to use the internal GPS chip. Good documentation would have been really useful here.
Phone Setup: Obviously this comes SIM-free, and I envisaged fun and games setting everything up for my provider (Voda). However, the Toshiba web site was excellent in getting me up and running quickly. I just typed in my phone number and their site sent settings to the phone for internet, MMS etc. All very seamless and the only thing I configured myself was my email accounts.
Summary: I suppose I'm a little frustrated that I've spent a while getting Tomtom to work, unsuccessfully so far, but putting that to one side I can only say that so far my high expectations (especially for the considerable price) have been met and even exceeded in some areas.
